Description: Minnesota Leadership Council on Aging is pleased to be leading the Aging Together Minnesota – an action-oriented, community-based project with a goal of exploring aging within diverse communities using a cultural humility lens and by engaging both diverse older adults and program staff working within diverse communities. Minnesota consistently ranks among the healthiest and most senior-friendly in national polls. However, this is not true for everyone. Minnesota ranks as one of the highest in health disparities as a result of these systemic issues affecting communities of color and the LGBT community and their peers.

Objectives:

1) Learn about the equity in aging work of the Minnesota Leadership Council on Aging and the Minnesota Diverse Elders Coalition

2) Obtain equity based resources to apply to your work in the aging sector

3) Learn about the challenges and opportunities facing Minnesota’s BIPOC and LGBTQ+ older adults.
