Our culture often nurtures a negative image of aging. We only have to look at television commercials to see how this begins when we are very young. When considering aging, learning about the facts on the ground gives us tools to reclaim aging, finding ways to practice joy and being open to this part of our life journey.
Objectives:
- Articulate the historic understanding of aging in our culture and the negative influence of that nurturing Assess for aging perceptions that do not promote health and well-being for aging persons
- Articulate multiple interventions that support aging with positive health and well-being practices
